Tithi: Jestha Krishna Ekadashi. Households (Smarta) keep the day Ekadashi stands at sunrise in Nepal, and Vaishnavas the last day it stands at dawn. Where the two differ, Nepal's patro gives both days.

Apara Ekadashi is the eleventh day of the dark fortnight of Jestha. Apara means boundless: the fast is said to bring merit without measure and to wash away heavy wrongs. Lord Vishnu is worshipped as Trivikrama.
How families keep it
Those who keep the fast eat no grain or pulses that day; many take only fruit, milk and roots, and some take nothing at all. Lord Vishnu is worshipped with tulsi leaves, and the fast is broken the next morning, on Dwadashi.

Each date is the day Nepal keeps the festival. Nepal publishes its patro one year at a time, so a date further ahead can move by a day when that year's patro comes out. For a ceremony, Pandit Ji confirms the day and the muhurta.
