Kushe Aunsi is the new-moon day of Bhadra Krishna paksha, kept as Buwa ko Mukh Herne Din, the day to see your father's face. Children honour their fathers with sweets, gifts and a visit. Those whose fathers have passed away offer sraddha in his name; in Nepal many go to Gokarna. It is also the day the kush grass used in every puja is brought into the house for the year.
How families keep it
Sons and daughters bring their father his favourite food and clothes and take his blessing. Families who have lost their father offer tarpan or a sraddha that day.

Each date is the day Nepal keeps the festival. Nepal publishes its patro one year at a time, so a date further ahead can move by a day when that year's patro comes out. For a ceremony, Pandit Ji confirms the day and the muhurta.
