What Nag Panchami is

Nag Panchami is Shrawan Shukla Panchami. The Nag are worshipped as guardians of water, rain and the home. A picture of the Nag is pasted above the main door, and it is believed to keep the house safe from snakes and harm through the year.

How families keep it

Families paste the Nag's picture above the door with cow dung and offer milk, rice, dubo and flowers. Often a pandit brings the picture and does the short puja.
