What Papankusha Ekadashi is

Papankusha Ekadashi is the eleventh day of the bright fortnight of Ashwin, the Ekadashi that follows Vijaya Dashami. The name means the goad that holds wrongdoing in check. Lord Vishnu is worshipped as Padmanabha.

How families keep it

Those who keep the fast eat no grain or pulses that day; many take only fruit, milk and roots, and some take nothing at all. Lord Vishnu is worshipped with tulsi leaves, and the fast is broken the next morning, on Dwadashi.
