Tithi: Krishna Ekadashi of an extra (adhik) month. Households (Smarta) keep the day Ekadashi stands at sunrise in Nepal, and Vaishnavas the last day it stands at dawn. Where the two differ, Nepal's patro gives both days.

About every three years an extra lunar month is added, so that the lunar year keeps pace with the solar one. It is called Adhik Mas or Purushottam Mas and is given to the worship of Lord Vishnu. Parama Ekadashi is the Ekadashi of its dark fortnight.
How families keep it
Those who keep the fast eat no grain or pulses that day; many take only fruit, milk and roots, and some take nothing at all. Lord Vishnu is worshipped with tulsi leaves, and the fast is broken the next morning, on Dwadashi.

Each date is the day Nepal keeps the festival. Nepal publishes its patro one year at a time, so a date further ahead can move by a day when that year's patro comes out. For a ceremony, Pandit Ji confirms the day and the muhurta.
