What Kojagrat Purnima is

Kojagrat Purnima is the full moon of Ashwin and the last day of Dashain. Kojagrat means "who is awake?": Goddess Laxmi is said to walk the earth this night and bless those she finds awake. It is also the last day to receive the Dashain tika. The day is kept by the night the full moon holds.

How families keep it

Families worship Laxmi in the evening and stay up late. The jamara and the kalash of Dashain are taken to a river.
